Sea Grass

I saw a really cool idea the other day, and gave it a go myself. I painted a mottled background, then made a tree out of sea grass, (and heaps of hot glue!!!!!!!!) and the leaves are felt. Didn't turn out too bad, might do my next one with jute string instead, the sea grass was a little bit too hard to manipulate effectively. When I do my next one, I'll post it up for you all to see...

Adam has been hanging around my store enough now to know what we stock and wanted to make me a war plane out of paddle pop sticks, so I brought a big 1000 sticks packet home and let him loose with my hot glue gun, this is his first attempt, and he tells me there are more to come :-)

and he even gave the plane our store number Tuggerah 2057!! Ha how cool is that?

Thanks Babe!!

Winter Crafts

We had to make winter themed crafts at work recently, so I decided to do a couple of canvases. This one is only tiny, about 2 inches x 3 inches!

And I also had a go at a textured painting using texture paste, a paper mache box, and some cobalt paint thinned out with flow medium

I've been slack!!!

I have been told by some very good friends that I have been slack in not posting on my blog for ages!! I guess I have been busier than I thought! :-) So I will be posting some of the things that I have been making for my store.

More Birthdays............

I had 4 birthday cards to make this week :-)

This was my first attempt of the quilted top note card. I just stuck 1inch squares of papers in a rectangle, then ran them through the Cuttlebug with the Top Note die, then ran it through again with the hounds tooth embossing die. Sponged the edges and "Bob's your uncle"! I love it!

My second one was using the Stampin Up Word Window Punch to make the petals out of regal rose cardstock, sponged them in regal rose ink, then attached them with a brad.

Whenever I see this ribbon I think of my aunty, that's who the card is for, and so I had to use it! A bit fiddly, but I really like it, I will definitely be using it again.

My Grandmother's card just HAD to feature some classy "old world" feel, so I used the "Bliss" set from Stampin Up, and added some lace, looks like a skirt don't you think? And I LOVE the pearl in the centre.

My 1st try at painting

My very good friend celebrated her birthday last week, and I wanted to give her something personal. I attempted my first painting, she loves dragonflies so I knew what to include on the canvas. I must say I am pretty happy with it :-)

here is a closeup of the poem, I found it on a poem website ages ago:

My Sister's Birthday

Yesterday was my sister's birthday and I gave her a couple of gifts but decided to make her an extra one. This is a card holder handbag. It has 4 cards plus envelopes, a notepad, a pencil, and the front pocket houses a book of postage stamps.
The bag without the contents
The cards inside - the white is the envelopes behind
the notepad, stamps and pencil - sorry that it's blurry!
Then I had to make a card too, so I used the same "Bliss" stamp set and added a few more things.
A close up of my rosette using my scallop circle punch and a quilling tool.
and I couldn't resist a half-backed pearl to finish it off.......I think all of us girls at work cleared the stock of these! Ha ha
Well, she seemed to love this gift, she is going to make me an aunty again soon, so she hasn't had much time to make cards for people......this will give her a helping hand.

I have been asked for the instructions on making the little rose on my card....I followed a youtube clip so here's the link!

There you go Dani!! xx
